At 7:30 a.m. in the morning, we will pick you up in a private vehicle from your hotel for a grand tour of the Sacred Valley. We will pass through the “Ccorao” pass above Cusco to descend along a winding road into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here we will hike along Inca trails through the magnificent Inca citadel of PISAC considered as one of the outstanding Inca remains due to the quality of the stonework and the breathtaking location on a mountain saddle overlooking the Sacred Valley. After a 1 1/2 hour visit and hike, we will descend the mountain for a brief visit to the colonial town of the same name with a quick stop at its famous indigenous craft market. Then we will drive following the Urubamba River downstream to the town of Urubamba; here we will visit the local food market and have lunch at a nearby local restaurant. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, considered the most authentic living Inca village. This village has been continuously inhabited from the time of the Incas to the present day, preserving its original urban layout and stone-walled houses. A guided walking tour of the extensive ruins and narrow cobblestone streets will make you feel like you are traveling back in time. You take the 4:30 pm train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu and stay at the hotel in Aguas Calientes for the night. Dinner on your own.
